Even if you're not catholic this place is a must see, everywhere you look there's a beautiful thing, the place is huge, golden ornaments and sculptures all around. Don't miss the underground crypt and if possible buy tickets to climb the dome (with the lift option!), is a long climb, 320 steps, but is a beautiful and peaceful 360° view. If is summer don't try to get the last time slot believing you'll be able to see the sunset, the sun sets around 9PM, the last slot if 6PM, and they only allowed me to stay for around 10 minutes before making everybody go back to the stairs to leave the place.

Robbers!! Who goes into the most holy location arguably in Europe & has their money stolen? Pay by card everywhere, all the electronic candle racks give you the option to select €3, €10 & €20? Choose your option, tap your card, then NOTHING!! NONE of the candles work!! Keep trying the switches, no - NOTHING. FURIOUS 😡 How many people have put money into that bank account in the hope of that glow of symbolism lighting up to memorialise their loved ones. Such a splendid place to remember cherished ones, lost or sick, to be let down by the most holy Christian church in the land. No member of staff was interested in the above, just happy for the Pope’s team to carry on the corruption of innocent people losing their money & their faith in such an unscrupulous organisation.

Simply breathtaking but you need a bit of time and it would be better not part of a general Vatican tour as it and the Sistine are so special
