Beautiful Basilica, very impressive. Luckily we didn't have to wait in a long line to get in as it was moving pretty quickly. We were so pleased to have been able to visit after being in the Vatican Museums. This is a must see in Rome.

Saint Peter's Basilica is by far the grandest building that I have ever seen. It is a must-visit for anyone visiting Rome; no photo could ever capture its elegance and immense scale. I would definitely recommend 'skip the line' tickets if visiting on a particularly warm day. Otherwise, you have to stand in a huge queue (which is not fun in itself) with the sun beaming down on you.

Incredibly beautiful! Would definitely recommend You can enter for free and look around the ground and -1 levels. I think you have to pay for a tour or to go up to the dome, but there is so much to see regardless. The church is incredible, it's so grand that photos don't do it justice. You are required to cover shoulders and upper legs it seemed (lots of men in shorts with knees out) but we were provided with white cloths (similar to a small table cloth).

Wow. Do not avoid trying to go to St PB if near to Rome. It's huge, and impressive. Book in advance. We used GYG and easy to get in etc. Would advise downloading tickets though beforehand! It's big, there is lots to see and lots of space. Wasn't massively busy (Tuesday in August). Take water, hat or UV umbrella for shade when walking to and away from.

Of course the basilica itself is fabulous, but if you're visiting you need to know the ancillary security staff are officious and bullying. I was subject to and observed them ordering people about at full voice and chastising for no reason. They're a minor annoyance overall but do be prepared for some really poor behaviour.
