This was a wild and sobering experience. We knew about the crypt, but didn’t know about the extent of the museum. It was fascinating learning about the Caphuchin tradition before entering the crypt. Once inside, it took our breath away. Very unique and humbling.

I’m undecided between 0 and 5. The crypt is very good in terms of being bizarre and unusual. The audio guide is rubbish and the museum not very interesting. It’s worth visiting for the crypt as an illustration of the bizarre lengths people go to for religion, which for me is inexplicable.

This was such an interesting tour. It was self guided with headphones. It was so informative. We loved that we could take our time. The chapel of bones was amazing. You have to see it to believe it. I would recommend it to everyone

We visited with a guide. The actual tour is fascinating and everyone including the children loved it. Unfortunately, it was rather spoilt by the attitude of two members of staff, not just to our party, but also to a woman that had obviously been taken ill. They need training in dealing with the public. The children would have wanted to buy souvenirs but due to the staff (two of them) decided not to bother. One member of staff was obviously very embarrassed by their attitude. What a shame - an excellent tour otherwise.

An interesting museum, parts of which I personally found a little unsettling. I booked tickets online direct with the museum. I liked that you could go at any time within the morning or afternoon slot rather than a specific fixed time like many other attractions, so it was a little more flexible. The first part of the museum gives interesting information about the monastery and has various artworks and artefacts on display. The second part is the crypt. I could appreciate the artful way that the monks had decorated the rooms with the bones, but also very conscious that there were hundreds of skulls, vertebrae, pelvises attached to the walls, as well as full skeletons in the monks habits. Worth seeing as part of the history of Rome, but it is a bit creepy. Whilst we were there, several families with small children were visiting. There are child friendly options on the audio tour, but some of the children looked visibly upset in the crypt area. I personally wouldn’t take young children, especially if they are sensitive as I can imagine there were some children who were scared to go to bed that night.

Only a small museum but fascinating and strangely beautiful at times. Not so impressed by the first section but the actual bone crypt is amazing.

We booked directly through the website for a private tour. It was worth it. So unusual yet fascinating. The artistry of each chamber, wall, ceiling and floor was thoroughly explained. The history of the order and the relics were very interesting. Don't miss the Caravaggio. The gift shop is small but cute and had some fun and nice things in it. This is an active religious site. Please be respectful. Mind the dress code.

The Crypts were very cool to see, what a creative way to use bones. The museum upstairs was also interesting and is worth the visit (since you walk through it to get to the Crypts anyway). There is a small gift shop at the end of your visit.

Interesting & unusual afternoon out at the capuchin crypts! Visited with someone in a wheelchair, steps upto the entrance but once in it was pretty easy to access. The audio guide was interesting even for the kids.Staff were helpfuland accommodating. Recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid the queue! Could do with some signage at the bottom of the steps as it wasnt obvious there was 2 queues, one for prebooked tickets and one for pay at the door.

This is one of the few attractions in Rome which isn't flooded with people. We bought the tickets the time we were there, not early and still didn't have to wait at all. First, there is this museum part where information about the Capuchin friars is given with objects and artifacts. There is alsa a Caravaggio painting at that section. Then comes the macabre part where human skulls and skeletons are displayed. And lastly, there is this monastery chapel/church. It takes around an hour to make the whole tour.

Very interesting little museum with an extremely good and informative audio guide. The first part provided a great insight into the history of the Capuchin friars and the crypt is just amazing to see. Well worth a visit….especially on a rainy day in Rome.

Unless you like looking at a load of bones, then give this place a miss. The audio guide is annoying, pretending to be two people having a conversation about what you're seeing. History buffs might like this place but it's not something I'd recommend.

Amazing rich history. This was not a stop on our first trip to Rome, but we found it during our second trip and it was so fascinating to see it.

Unbelievable artistry; the displays are amazing. Much smaller than the Paris catacombs, but with much more artistic detail in the displays. Headphones/audio guide available, small gift shop. Within walking distance of Piazza Barberini. If you come underdressed, you will have to buy a disposable garment to cover shoulders/thighs.

Very interesting museum & crypt experience. Entry fee is also affordable. They offer an audio tour included which both of my kids (ages 15 & 10) enjoyed.

One of the more interesting museums. Clean and well organized with a/c, which is a reprieve from Rome’s scorching heat. Fascinating display in the crypt, not scary at all. Totally worth a visit.

Fascinating and lesser known museum to see in Rome. The audio guide tells you about the history of the order and there are many interesting objects on display. And then you enter the crypt and witness something truly unique. This is an amazing place to visit.
